Welcome to URMEL-ICE
URMEL-ICE: Children experience Activity
URMEL-ICE is a school-based prevention project, facilitating a healthy lifestyle of children.
The aim of this project is to develop a structured, scientifically founded prevention programme, which acts at an early age and operates through school. It was important not to involve any additional experts and to adhere to modern prevention principles: long-term application, simple and repeating messages, strengthening of personal responsibility and self-regulation, inclusion of peer groups like school classes and families.
URMEL-ICE is a scientific study and not just a well-meant initiative, which – being the largest German intervention study with primary school children – can deliver scientific results.
URMEL-ICE is a scaleable and tranportable concept which therefore was adopted by the district of Günzburg in 2008.
The Baden-Württemberg Stiftung supports the implementation in a new project:
"Das gesunde Boot für die Grundschule" (The Healthy Boat for Primary Schools)
